Beth DeSombre: Music

Where the Words and Music Meet

It’s a hard road that we travel; it’s a slow and steady climb
It’s a journey of a thousand steps, and some get left behind
But the point of our endeavors cannot be to just go on
When I get the chance I’ll raise a glass, and lift my voice in song

We don’t need much; just strings to touch
And a simple steady beat
The greatest joy is when we gather
Where the words and music meet

When the weight of expectations keeps you tethered to one place
When the burden borne of standing still carves lines upon your face
Just remember that the silence can be broken with one voice
And if doubt and fear bring darkness here et music be your choice

We don’t need much; just strings to touch
And a simple steady beat
The greatest joy is when we gather
Where the words and music meet

If the place where we are going seeks advice from where we’ve been
We’ll find a way to mark it down with instrument and pen
Nothing sets my soul to flying like a melody and rhyme
When our hearts take wing the songs they sing stay with us for all time

We don’t need much; just strings to touch
And a simple steady beat
The greatest joy is when we gather
Where the words and music meet
Where the words and music meet
