I walk to clear my head
Beneath the skies I realize
What drove me from my bed
It's years since you moved on
I'm fine although I need to know
What's left now that you're gone
In the mountain valley
Just out of view
Hidden all around me
Traces of you
I pass by rocks and streams
As dawn enfolds me I behold
How calm the land now seems
But I remember when
The ground awoke; the mountains broke
It seemed eternal then

After landslides, earthquakes, floods
The meadow settles; the forest mends
But down below, we seldom notice
How the bedrock bends
It's hard to find my way
The maps are torn, their pieces worn
They're leading me astray
The land appears the same
The grass still grows but down below
The rocks record your name
In the mountain valley
